Or not so humble really\u2026 <br \/><br \/>The first photo you see was taken outside a tiny church next to Billesley Manor, an Elizabethan manor in Warwickshire where my partner and I stayed in September. Just before heading home, we visited the church, and as often happens when I become deeply invested in a place\u2019s history and stories, I was reluctant to leave. I found myself lingering, capturing the rich hues beneath my feet with my camera.<\/p><p>This particular photo is just one of many I\u2019ve taken since the turn of the season. The merging of past and present, steeped in the manor\u2019s history, enveloped me as I left. The image stayed with me, and as I revisited it over the following days, the idea of the conker took root. It felt like a natural symbol, a perfect addition to <em>Yield + Resonance<\/em>, representing a cyclical, nostalgic connection between nature, history, and harvest.<\/p><p><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/zgrukme9mlb0hnjez6nsvf7zijvnk78wxfnrufmyjjj2ra7x.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" alt=\"zgrukme9mlb0hnjez6nsvf7zijvnk78wxfnrufmyjjj2ra7x.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" \/><\/p><p><\/p><p><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/3wlundyjjng1mdspb5xhm6qe2yyxukdjhtwhs4brl84hb8vq.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" alt=\"3wlundyjjng1mdspb5xhm6qe2yyxukdjhtwhs4brl84hb8vq.jpeg.jpeg?w=1140&amp;v=2\" \/><\/p><ul><li><p><strong>Harvest &amp; Yield<\/strong>: Conkers are a product of the horse chestnut tree, dropping in autumn as part of the seasonal yield. They reflect the cyclical process of nature, from growth to harvest.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Resonance<\/strong>: The <em>thud<\/em> they make when hitting the ground connects to the idea of sound naturally produced by harvest.<\/p><p><strong>Symbolism<\/strong>: Conkers symbolise the time of year when nature\u2019s cycle winds down and prepares for winter.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Cycles<\/strong>: Conkers come full circle from seed to tree, aligning with the themes of cycles in nature, labour, and return. Like the harvest or the turning of windmill sails, the life of a conker encapsulates the cycles of growth, toil, and regeneration.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Sonic Element<\/strong>: Conkers have an inherent sonic quality.
